Moret is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is a native of Kansas City Kansas. Moret is passionate about helping her community and inspiring youth to become a more resilient version of themselves. She empowers youth on a daily basis to Rise Up in her role as a School Counselor in Kansas City Kansas School District. Here,at Rise Up Resiliency Center, she facilitates our Teen Counseling Groups. Her personal values of faith, family, and education is embodied and evident with the warm family atmosphere she provides for girls facing anxiety, depression, and self esteem issues in the group setting where she empowers them to Rise UP.

As a Peer Support Specialist and a Group Facilitator, Akyra is passionate about walking alongside women and parents who have faced similar life and mental challenges as herself. Akyra focuses on utilizing her experiences in complicated grief, parenting, women issues and family dynamics in aiding and helping others Rise Up to Resiliency. As a wife, mother, and active community member, Akyra has overcome numerous obstacles while obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas City Missouri. She currently facilitates the Women, Parenting, Grieve, and Skills Groups here at Rise Up Resiliency Center. Akyra has completed training and met all requirements as a Peer Support Specialist in Kansas.

Job Description:  Provides individuals, couples, families, and groups counseling services to clients experiencing mental health and wellness related issues. Independent Contract positions required a minimum of 5 direct clients hours with the ability to work up to 30 direct client hours. The option to see clients in person and/or telehealth are available. Responsibilities: Conduct Intake assessment Create  and implement treatment plans Complete all required notes and documentation for Client files Create safe place for clients to reach their therapeutic goals ​ Independent Contractor Qualifications:  Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work ( or related degree)  Passed  National Counselor Exam Obtain a Licensed Professional Counselor/ Marriage Couples Family Therapist, Clinically Licensed Social Worker   by the state of  Kansas   Compensation: $35 to $50 per direct client hour Required to work a minimum of 5 direct client hours
